Sand Sculpting Festival

American Sand Sculpting Championship Festival

Once a year, some of the best sand sculpting artists in the United States meet for the American Sand Sculpting Championship Festival on the fine white beaches at Fort Myers Beach.

The festival takes place at the beginning of November and ranks among the most popular and family-friendly festivals in southwestern Florida. The festival venue is, of course, the beach that is several hundred meters wide in the Southern part of Fort Myers Beach.

Along with the most renowned sand sculpting experts, many amateur sand sculptors take on the challenge of creating the best and most beautiful sand sculpture of the entire festival.

When it comes to creating elaborate sand sculptures, the artists let their imaginations run free. They create a broad range of sand sculptures—from small individual sculptures to complex works of art. Unfortunately, and due to the volatile building material, the beauty of those works of art is only temporary, but every year, the festival provides ample room for new themes and ideas.

In 2011, the 25th Annual American Sand Sculpting Championship Festival will be held November 2–6 at Fort Myers Beach, adjacent to the GullWing Beach Resort, Pointe Estero Resort and Holiday Inn.

Sixteen of the world's best sand sculpting artists are going to participate at the festival. To learn more about the Sand Sculpting Championship Festivals and view pictures of participating artists, please visit the Championship Festival's website.
